Your car's engine needs coolant to keep it at the right temperature year round. It's important to maintain your cooling system, which is why we recommend a coolant change every two years to prolong the life of your car.

Coolant is a mixture of antifreeze and water, which stops the engine from freezing in winter, and overheating in summer

As part of the Coolant/Antifreeze Change, our expert technicians will drain and refill your coolant, as well as safely disposing old fluid.

Without engine coolant, your car would quickly overheat. Coolant is a mixture of antifreeze and water, which helps to regulate the temperature of your engine in extreme conditions.

Just like engine oil and brake fluid, coolant degrades over time, and at some point will no longer get the job done, putting your car at risk of breaking down. That's why we recommend a coolant change every two years to keep your car running smoothly.

A coolant change will:

  • Stop your engine from seizing up in extreme weather.
  • Remove rust and deposits than can build up over time.
  • Prevent clogging and degradation of engine components, prolonging the life of your car.

Our expert technicians use manufacturer approved Comma coolant, to provide maximum protection against corrosion, overheating and freezing.

There are a number of factors which affect how often you need to change your coolant, such as car type, age and driving style. Some manufacturers recommend a coolant change after 30,000 miles, others 50,000. Check your owner's manual to get accurate information for your car.

The coolant change takes around one hour to complete.

Rolling Resistance(A-G)

E Grade – Below average fuel efficiency, however there may in some cases be a good reason why the rolling resistance is higher, for example where tyres are specifically designed for more grip, such as sports car tyres or winter tyres.

Wet Grip(A-G)

B Grade – Nearly the best quality tyres to stop in the wet, stopping only 3m more than a grade A tyre but on average 15m shorter than a car on grade G tyres (on a wet road when braking from 50mph – testing according to regulation EC1222/2009)
